The NBA’s Health and Safety protocols have taken another 76ers player from the available roster. Joel Embiid entered the league’s protocols according to Shams Charania.
Joel Embiid joins fellow 76ers Tobias Harris, Isaiah Joe, and Matisse Thybulle on the sidelines due to the protocols. Embiid was supposed to rest against the Knicks tonight, but he may miss up to 10 days.
Charania has also reported that Embiid can return sooner he returns two negative COVID-19 results in 24 hours moving forward.
The 76ers are still without Ben Simmons, meaning that the depth of this team is as depleted as ever.
The Sixers host the Knicks tonight and finish off the homestand with the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday and the Raptors on Thursday. They then travel west to face the Pacers on Saturday, as well as the Jazz, Nuggets, and Trail Blazers in the week afterward.
