Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has told reporters that the recent acquisition Kemba Walker is out of the rotation, and Alec Burkes will start on Tuesday against the Nets.

The Knicks have an overload of guards, and it seems as though Walker was just not up to standards with what Thibodeau wanted with the team.

NY Knicks: 3 levels of trades involving Alec Burks

This benching comes as Walker has had an underwhelming season as the starting point guard, averaging just 11.7 points per game. Walker’s FG% of 42.9% has contributed to his -122 net rating on the season, which is one of the lowest in the NBA.

Burkes, on the other hand, has had an amazing season so far, with just over 10 points per game on great efficiency, and has put in a good defensive effort. The Knicks play the Nets Tuesday night.
