Last year when the Suns sent T.J. Warren and the 32nd overall pick to the Pacers. For what you ask? CASH! Yes!
“The Indiana Pacers have agreed to acquire T.J. Warren and the No. 32 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft from the Phoenix Suns, according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.”
T.J. Warren put up 18.0 points over 43 games for the Suns in 2019 but was still considered a bad contract. They also sent KZ Okpala, who has played well for the Heat and is a known prospect.
And Warren has been INSANE for the Pacers. He has played amazing in the NBA bubble and was voted all bubble first team.
So if we look back at this trade, T.J. Warren, an all-star caliber player was traded for cash and only cash.
This will be looked at by many as one of the worst all-time trades in Suns history; and one of the best in Pacers history.
