Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks picked at 6 in this first round and got themselves Onyeka Okungwu, USC center. Okungwu has amazing potential, but the Hawks now have an overhaul of centers with Okungwu and Capela. They should look to trade Capela, or they will hurt Okungwu’s develpment.
GRADE: C+
Boston Celtics

The Celtics at 14 picked up Aaron Nesmith, the perfect fit for this team. Nesmith is one of the best shooters in this draft and can be a good bench piece for the Celtics this season.
GRADE: A
Charlotte Hornets

At 3, the Hornets got Lamelo Ball, the clear obvious choice. It’s fairly easy to give this pick a good grade because of how good Lamelo is, but the Hornets should have at least tried to trade to get Wiseman, considering they have both Devonte Graham and Terry Rozier III.
GRADE: B+
Chicago Bulls

The Bulls made a huge reach at 4 taking a player with a very low ceiling in Patrick Williams. And at a place like pick 4, you should not be trying to take a safe pick, rather you always should go for the highest potential.
GRADE: F
Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs took Issac Okoro with their 5th pick. Overall, this was the right pick assuming they weren’t going to take Obi Toppin. This was a pretty boring pick, but it was a good one none theless.
GRADE: B
Detriot Pistons

The Pistons got Killian Hayes with the 7th pick. Hayes is a high potential player. He is crafty, clean, and a good player on both sides of the ball. Hayes is perfect for a rebuilding team like the Pistons due to his insane amounts of potential.
GRADE: A+
Golden State Warriors

The Warriors picked up James Wiseman with their first-round pick at #2. Wiseman has the potential to come into the NBA on a winning team, and I believe that he can use that to become a future star.
Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves got to draft Anthony Edwards with the number one pick, and their fans should be as happy as ever. Edwards compliments the games of both D’Angelo Russell and Karl Anthony-Towns and fits better than anyone in this draft.
GRADE: A+
New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans took Alabama PG Kira Lewis Jr, and they should be glad they got him. They already have a very strong young core and it keeps building with Kira. He is not the most polarizing prospect but he does fit in well with what they have so far.
GRADE: A-
New York Knicks

The Knicks got lucky, as Obi Toppin fell to them at pick 8. He fits well with Mitchell Robinson and the rest of their young core, and hopefully bud into a star under the bright New York lights.
GRADE: B-
Phoenix Suns

The Suns shocked many people when they picked Maryland center Jalen Smith at pick 10. Smith is very good, but few people expected him to go this high in the draft.
GRADE: C
Sacramento Kings

The Kings got lucky and got to take Tyrese Haliburton at pick 12. This was an amazing pick, and it looks like Tyrese will be able to play next to De’Aaron Fox and improve alongside him.
GRADE: A+
San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs took Devin Vassel at pick 11, and deserve a round of alplause for it. They got the right guy espcially when there are players who some could consider are better for them.
GRADE: B+
Washington Wizards

The Wizards are another one of the luckiest teams, as they had to pleasure to draft Deni Avdija at 9. He is an amazing all around player out of Israel and can do wonders for them especially if they want to make a playoff run.
